The estate of Michael Jackson isn’t too happy with rapper Sexyy Red right now over her use of the King of Pop’s music. Sexxy Red recently used Jackson’s “Beat It” without the family’s permission, according to Billboard. She sampled Jackson’s iconic 1983 hit for her own track titled, “Just Eat It.” The unreleased track was previewed on social media.

Speaking to Billboard, a spokesman for the Michael Jackson Estate said they were not aware of Sexyy Red’s use of Jackson’s music.
“We were totally unaware of this,” a spokesperson told the outlet. “The use of the music is unauthorized.”
Although Sexyy Red’s “Just Eat It” version has gone viral across social media, she may not be able to officially release the song without permission of the Michael Jackson Estate. The song’s popularity took off on Instagram after Lil Yachty posted a video of Sexyy Red rapping along to her own song “Just Eat It” in the studio.
“You better not nut fast ’cause I hate a minute man/ And if that dick is trash, I’m tellin’ all my friends/ I’ll beat your ass, know we ’bout to throw them hands/ Just eat it, just eat it,” she raps.
She also posted the clip, which is now deleted, on her own Instagram page with her caption, causing more controversy.
“Leaked footage from da Michael Jackson movie

Sexyy Red has a history of getting into trouble with the families of historical figures
In 2025, the family of Martin Luther King. Jr. called her out after she shared an AI photo of herself dancing with King in what looked like a club, as Blavity reported.
“This is intentionally distasteful, dishonoring, deplorable, and disrespectful to my family and my father, who is not here to respond himself because he was assassinated for working for your civil and human rights and to end war and poverty. Please delete,” Dr. Bernice King wrote at that time.
Sexyy Redd later deleted the post and issued an apology to Bernice King.
“You ain’t wrong, never meant to disrespect your family my apologies. Just [reposted] something I saw that I thought was innocent,” she said.
Bernice King accepted the apology, writing, “Thank you for your apology, which I sincerely accept. Please know that it was not my intention that you be denigrated. I value you as a human being. I hope you understand my concerns about the image. I know that my father has become a bit of a caricature to the world and that his image is often used with no regard to his family, his sacrificial work, or to the tragic, unjust way in which he died (a state-sanctioned assassination).”
