TWICE’s Jihyo is the latest addition to the long list of international artists who have been praising Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show.
During her recent interaction with her fans on the group’s messaging platform, Bubble, Jihyo expressed her enthusiasm and admiration for the Puerto Rican superstar’s recent performance, revealing her affinity for Latin music and how she has watched the show several times.
The interaction was initiated by her fans, who asked whether she was looking forward to new music and recommended songs by Latin artists.
Jihyo replied, stating that she was already a fan of Latin music. “I really like Karol G,” she wrote, before stating, “But I’m really into Bad Bunny these days. The Super Bowl was sooo cool.”
Her statement has been going viral, especially among Latin American fans, who are delighted by the interaction between the K-pop idol and the reggaeton superstar.
During her interaction, she also mentioned that she had watched the show several times. “I think I’ve seen it about 30 times.. haha,” she wrote, hinting that she had studied the show.
Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show, nicknamed the “Benito Bowl,” was watched by a large number of viewers globally.
According to Nielsen data, the show averaged 128.2 million viewers on Sunday, surpassing the game’s average viewership of 124.9 million.
Nonetheless, the viewership was smaller than Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show, which drew 133.5 million viewers last year.
Before Lamar, the record was held by Usher, whose 2024 halftime show was the most-watched. Bad Bunny’s show was highly praised, and his massive fanbase grew further.
The Puerto Rican superstar’s interaction with K-pop idol Jihyo is a clear indication of the emerging connection between Latin and K-pop music, which have been crossing paths in recent times.
