Andrew Body is returning to Alabama State

Andrew Body and Alabama State will run it back together one more time.

Hornets head coach Eddie Robinson Jr. confirmed during a press conference Friday morning that Body will be returning to ASU following a period of exploring his options in the transfer portal.

“You look at pieces that would be hard to replace, and he is one of them,” Robinson said. “He can do a lot of things with the football, and he has some good leadership capabilities and that’s what you’re looking for with so many new people in the building.

A native of Houston, Texas, body came to Montgomery after starting his career at Texas Southern. He missed all but one game in 2024 due to an arm injury but returned in 2025 and got off to a hot start.

In eight games last season, Body completed 113 of 160 passes for 1,770 yards and 20 touchdowns against just one interception. Body unfortunately was injured again and missed Bama State’s final four games.

Body’s return comes as Robinson has hired a veteran HBCU coordinator, Tony Hull, to run the Hornet offense.
