TikTok Star Sparks Backlash After Saying Women Should Accept Cheating from Rich Men

Aya Tanjali

Aya Tanjali, a social media influencer who has around 6 million followers on the video-sharing app TikTok, is getting a lot of backlash for her comments on the internet that women who date rich and successful men need to just be okay with the fact that the men will cheat on them and not try to get back at them or end the relationship.

The video of her making the comments was posted online and caused a huge stir. In the video, Tanjali was saying that men who cheat have been doing so for a long time and that women in previous generations would have been okay with the fact that their men would cheat on them and would not try to get back at them.

“No shade, but something that academics said … whenever they man cheat, they used to hold it in,” she said in the video. Tanjali then goes on to say that once a man has acquired wealth and status, he will definitely cheat on his partner, and that the woman in the relationship needs to be okay with that.

“You’re supposed to hold it in as a woman,” she said in the video. Tanjali also said that she believes that men have a tendency to cheat and that this is something that cannot be helped. She ends the video by saying that being someone’s girlfriend or boyfriend does not mean that the person will not try to see others.

The clips quickly went viral across social media platforms, with some people criticizing Tanjali’s opinion, claiming that the relationship dynamics she promoted were unhealthy. Others argued that she was making excuses for people who had betrayed their loved ones. Some people ridiculed Tanjali’s youth and inexperience, but others claimed that self-respect and loyalty to one’s partner were more important than wealth and fame.

However, some people supported Tanjali’s opinion, arguing that the power and wealth enjoyed by some in the public eye make it difficult to maintain an exclusive relationship, and that some knowingly enter these situations.

The controversy surrounding Tanjali’s opinion also raised the issue of her previous relationship with Young Dabo, a popular streamer, which ended amid cheating accusations from both parties. Tanjali had also touched on her previous experiences in giving her opinion.

Relationship expectations have become a topic of interest on various social media platforms, where people can quickly react to opinions expressed in livestreams and viral clips. Analysts have claimed that discussions in social media chats, especially among the youth, are changing traditional ideas about power in relationships.

Tanjali, however, has not issued a follow-up statement regarding the criticism she received for her opinion.
