Jackson State rises to No. 15 in FCS poll, other HBCUs receive votes

Jackson State climbed two spots to No. 15 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 poll released Monday following its 28-14 season-opening win over Hampton Saturday.

The Tigers are the only HBCU program ranked in the Top 25 after Week 1.

Three other HBCU programs, Tennessee State, South Carolina State, and North Carolina Central, received votes in the poll.

Tennessee State defeated North Carolina A&T 41-17. South Carolina State edged Wofford 16-15, and North Carolina Central fell to New Hampshire 27-10.
