North Carolina HBCU rivalry game returns to big city neutral site in 2027

One of HBCU football’s oldest and most heated rivalries will get a neutral – and big stage in 2027

The Aggie-Eagle classic, a yearly battle between North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central, will be played at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium on August 28, 2027, according to a report by Ashley Mahoney of AXIOS Charlotte.

The game is one of two Duke’s Mayo Classic games scheduled in 2027 for the home of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers. Notre Dame and Wake Forest will play the Duke’s Mayo Classic game later in the season.

The Aggie-Eagle Classic goes back well over 100 years, with the first meeting in 1922. North Carolina Central has won the last three matchups, including a 66-24 drubbing of North Carolina A&T last September.
