Tory Lanez’s legal team has issued a statement in response to Megan Thee Stallion’s recent petition for a restraining order, which alleges that Lanez orchestrates ongoing abuse through third-party bloggers. The petition, filed earlier this week, includes evidence of $3,000 Zelle payments reportedly made by Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson, to a blogger accused of amplifying abuse against Megan.
Megan’s legal team asserts that these payments are part of a broader effort to harm her reputation and mental well-being. However, Tory Lanez’s lawyers deny any connection between their client and the transactions, urging the public to reserve judgment until the full details are revealed in court.
“As for the Zelle transactions of $3,000, we must ask the public not to jump to conclusions. The legal process will not only address these matters but prove 100% without a shadow of a doubt that they had nothing to do with Mr. Daystar Peterson or his case at all,” the statement reads. “We trust that the facts will come to light in court. We believe that the funds sent by Mr. Sonstar Peterson will be fully accounted for and not connected to our client.”
The statement also takes a combative tone, questioning Megan Thee Stallion’s credibility by referencing past interviews where she allegedly admitted to inconsistencies in her narrative.
“On a broader note, I believe it is important to consider the pattern of behavior we are seeing. When someone has openly admitted to lying on major public platforms—such as Gayle King’s show and others—at what point do we, as a society, stop believing the narrative they are pushing?”
This development adds another layer of complexity to the already contentious legal battle between Megan and Lanez, who was convicted earlier this year for shooting Megan during a 2020 altercation. While Lanez’s team continues to maintain his innocence, Megan’s camp remains steadfast in seeking accountability for what they allege is an ongoing campaign of harassment.
The courts are now tasked with determining whether the Zelle payments if verified, constitute an effort to intimidate or defame Megan. As the case unfolds, both sides appear prepared to dig deeper into each other’s pasts to strengthen their respective arguments.
For now, one thing is certain: the legal and public showdown between these two high-profile artists is far from over.
